NEW WORLD - Chapter 5

The next day, when I opened the box again, I found a little black notebook. It was old and a little dusty, but before I even opened it, I knew just what it is. A spellbook.
I opened the first page and saw a light spell. I decided to try it. I turned off the lights, and realised the letters glow in the dark. Cool!
I put it on my desk and tried to concentrate.
"Lux!" I said, but nothing happened.
"Lux!" I said again, louder. There were a few sparks in the dark comming from my hands.
"Lux!!" I said, this time I really shouted. For a second I was worried Derek could hear me but then I realised they aren't home. They went to watch Aiden's football game.
But then I realised there is a light 'ball' in my hands.
"So cool!" I whispered. I looked at the spellbook and tried to find the reverse spell. There wasn't one... But when I lost my concentration, the light disappeared.
I tried it a couple more times. When I thought I practised enough, I turned the page. There was a levitating spell.
I wanted to try it, but I had to call Howard first.
And I had no idea how to do that.
"Howard!" I shouted. Nothing happened. I trieds to search for a calling spell in the spellbook. But then I heard a noise downstairs. I went down and he was there, sitting on the couch.
"Howard? How did you get here?"
"You called me. I heard it, so I came."
"How could you hear me?"
"Magically!" he laughed. "So, why did you call me?"
"I found a spellbook in the box! Look!" I showed him the spellbook. "And I learned a spell!" I turned off the light "Lux!"
The light 'ball' was in my hands again.
"That's great!" he said.
"I also wanted to ask you, can I still see my friends after I..."
"Ivy, Angela and Sarah? Of course not." he said. "They are comming with us."
"What??"
"They are witches too."
"Really? Do they know it?"
"I don't think so."
I wasn't sure what to think about this. So cool! Maybe, if they don't know, I could tell them!
"Can I tell them?" I asked Howard.
"Of course. It would probably be easier for them if their friend told them..."
"I can call them right now, so we can meet in Angie's house. She's always alone."
"Great. Let me know what happened." he said and disappeared.
I needed five minutes to figure out how to tell them, and then I called Angie. She called Ivy and Sarah and they were all in my house for about half an hour.
"What is this about?" Sarah asked.
"Turn of the lights." I said. Ivy turned off the lights.
"Lux!" I said, and there it was, a light 'ball' in my hands.
"What the hell??" Angie was confused.
"It's magic!" I said. "I am a witch, and so are you!"
"So, I can do that?" Angie asked, suspicious.
"I don't know. Maybe. And maybe not. Wait, let me tell you the whole story."
And I did. All about granny Alison, Howard, the box, Magycful...
When I looked at their faces, I could see they are shocked.
"This is so... So... Freakin awesome!!! I love it!!! When are we learning that cool stuff??" they shouted all in once.
I laughed. This is so like them.
"I should call Howard. And Marie and Gina." I said.
"Well do it then!!" Sarah said.
"OK... Howard!!" I tried to call him. It took about ten seconds before he appeared right in front of us.
"Ivy, Sarah, Angie, this is Howard. Howard, this is Ivy, Sarah and Angie."
